Carer Recruitment Process Overview
1. Application and Initial Screening
- Carers apply via job adverts, our website, or other platforms.
- Their CV is reviewed by a recruiter and shortlisted candidates are invited to a phone screening.
- Unlike other care providers, our phone screening is conducted by an AI agent named Lily.
- Candidates receive an email with a link to book a call with Lily—available 24/7. Alternatively, they can request an immediate callback via email.
2. AI Screening with Lily
- Lily conducts a structured screening that includes:
- Compliance questions (e.g. driving licence)
- Motivation and interest in care work
- Preferred working hours
- Career goals and expectations
- A detailed report is generated and sent to the recruitment team for review.
3. Recruiter Review and Next Steps
- Recruiters assess Lily’s report and decide whether to proceed.
- If suitable, the candidate is invited to a virtual face-to-face competency interview.
- If not suitable for the current package, we may suggest alternative roles.
4. Competency Interview
- Conducted by a recruiter, this interview evaluates:
- Respectfulness and empathy
- Problem-solving ability
- Person-centred care approach
- Safety awareness
- Communication skills
- Based on the interview, candidates are either offered a role or declined on the same day.
5. Compliance and Matching
- Successful candidates enter our compliance process, which includes:
- DBS and right-to-work checks
- Mandatory and clinical training
- Accurate completion of paperwork
- Commitment to compliance is essential—the faster candidates complete it, the sooner they can start work.
6. Meet and Greet with Clients
- Subject to client suitability, candidates attend a virtual or in-person meet and greet.
- Prior to this, they are briefed by a Field Care Manager (FCM) who provides:
- Client details
- Success tips
- Any clinical or personal preferences the client may have
- A team member supports the candidate during the meet and greet, and feedback is provided within 24 hours.
7. Deployment and Pay
- Once compliance is complete and training is done, candidates are assigned a shadow shift.
- Shadow shifts and training are paid at National Minimum Wage.
- After sign-off, carers move to the package rate.
- They are then handed over to the Operations team for ongoing support.
Support Office Roles
- These candidates receive a call from a recruiter (not Lily).
- The interview process may involve one to three stages.
- The process is explained during the initial phone screen.
- No meet and greet is required.
- Some roles may start without a DBS, depending on the position.
Clinical Nurse Roles
- Candidates undergo a clinically led interview conducted by a qualified nurse.
- The interview includes:
- Clinical suitability assessment
- Behavioural-based questions
- If the role involves a care package, the same meet and greet and compliance process applies.
