Our Impact – Supporting People, Purpose & Community
At Libertatem Healthcare Group, we’re proud to make a positive impact beyond the care we provide every day.
Through our partnerships, events, and fundraising, we support causes that improve lives, strengthen communities, and champion wellbeing across the care sector.
September 2020 has seen the exciting announcement that Libertatem Healthcare Group has adopted the spinal injury association as it’s official charity partner.
The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is the leading source of support and advice for people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI), and for over 40 years they have been working to help people who have sustained an injury to lead fulfilled, independent lives.
On average, someone sustains a spinal cord injury every four hours in the UK, meaning that over the course of this year around 2,500 people will be diagnosed with an SCI; there are around 50,000 spinal cord injured people currently living in the UK.
Their services include Advice and Advocacy for SCI people facing issues of inequality or requiring guidance on care package applications and appeals, a Support Network of SCI people providing peer-to-peer sessions, and Spinal Cord Injury Nursing Specialists supporting patients with clinical issues and providing training to Health and Social Care Practitioners.
Payroll Aid – Employee Scheme
Throughout the coming years we will be holding several fundraising events for our chosen charity.
Here’s just one example of how anyone can become spinal cord injured, and just how much of a positive impact our services can have on those affected:
The SIA want to be there for everyone who is impacted by a spinal cord injury, and as they don’t receive any government grants, their work is entirely funded by voluntary donations.
You can find out more about them and their work on their website here https://www.spinal.co.uk/
SIA Triathlon
Libertatem Healthcare took part in SIA Superheroes Triathlon at Dorney Lakes.
Our participation helped fund SIA’s mission to provide life-changing support, rehabilitation, and independence for people living with spinal cord injuries.
These events also promote inclusion, accessibility, and visibility for individuals with disabilities – values that sit at the heart of everything we do.
2024

Our team from our Wokingham office and our wonderful Libertatem client Lewis Bell, absolutely smashed their donations target raising nearly £10,000 for this fantastic cause. However, the real star of the show was the four-legged team member… Lewis’s dog, Bell, who completed the course alongside Lewis!

The event drew a crowd of over 20,000 attendees with 2,400 triathletes of various abilities taking part over a range of distances. Together, they raised over £4million for charity.
2025
In 2025, our team, alongside Gary Dawson, returned to the event and raised a further £1,800, contributing to SIA’s mission to fund rehabilitation, peer support, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by spinal injury.
