Libertatem Healthcare are seeking to recruit *Due to our clients’ needs* Female Personal Care Assistants required for a paraplegicclient (Spinal Cord Injury) in the Abergele area.
This is an opportunity to work as part of a supportive care team consisting of both day shifts and sleeping night staff. The client lives in a home which promotes a safe working environment for all.
The client’s independence is focal to the care you will help provide, making for a stimulating work environment as you assist him in living his best life. You will be in the position to positively impact your client’s quality of life and more than likely contribute to your own personal and professional development.
Duties include personal care, household chores, social activities, accompanying the client on holidays, facilitating rehab goals, following the client’s direction and to drive a wheelchair accessible van as needed.
The rota consists of 13hr day shifts
8.30am – 9.30pm dayshift
The successful candidates must be flexible and able to cover all shift patterns on a planned rota basis. The client cannot be left alone. Therefore, covering colleagues Annual Leave and absences is required.
Important Criteria – Essential
· Due to the personal nature of the care required we are recruiting Females for this position
· PAs are required to drive the client’s vehicle therefore all applicants MUST have a Full clean driving licence.
· Due to our clients’ needs the successful applicant MUST be flexible and available to work all shifts patterns to equal the contracted hours
· The client requires PA’s to accompany him on trips away from home including abroad on holiday
Training & Background Checks
All successful applicants will be required to complete paid shadow shifts and attend training which includes Spinal Cord Injury Education, Bowel and Bladder care and Safer People Handling. An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area
