Libertatem Healthcare are seeking enthusiastic people to join the support team for a 5-year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy to assist with therapy & care.
Our client is a bright & happy 5-year-old girl who owing to a birth injury has cerebral palsy affecting all 4 limbs.
The Client is non-verbal, however has a high level of receptive and expressive language using different methods of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to communicate (eye-gaze, PODD book, partner assisted scanning and switches). She walks with a walker, has a great sense of humor and loves to play/laugh. She is also PEG fed.
You will receive training for all these methods of communication, and a chance to learn from experienced therapists.
There are lots of opportunity to learn new skills and work within the Multi-Disciplinary Team including, highly specialist Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists. All training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary.
We are looking for a creative individual with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to help this young lady reach her full potential.
*Full UK Drivers Licence & own car is essential*
Hours (Full Time / Part-time)
- Days and Nights
- Days – 07:30 – 11:00, 14:30 – 20:00
- Nights – 20:00 – 08:00
Alternate weekends required
Responsibilities
– Assisting with therapies and rehabilitation program
– Assisting with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, feeding
– Accessing the community and suitable activities
– Accompanying to appointments and possibly nursery school.
– Providing personalised support in a sensitive and confidential manner, to individual and family.
– Thinking outside the box to come up with innovative ideas to help client/family
Training & Background Checks
An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
